Lockdown Dancing!

Dear Elite Dance Families,

We hope you are all staying safe and well at home! Although we can’t be all together, there are lots of exciting things going on in our online classes, and we wanted to share all this with you!

Miss Sarah has had lots of exciting things going on in her lockdown classes! As well as her new mini movers class, her Jazz and Stretch and Modern classes have all been continuing the great work they had in the studio, with mini free work exercises, and learning new modern and jazz moves! Stretch and jazz classes have been working on flexibility and core strength, so they are working very hard!

In Miss Sarah’s street classes, students have been lucky enough to start learning and developing their street knowledge with the ISTD street dance syllabus! We cant wait to see their work when we can all come back together! Her modern students have been using props from around the house to create their modern rhythms in a new and exciting way!

Miss Roisin’s Musical Theatre Classes have been working on creating a performance project, creating a song and dance piece which will eventually be filmed by the students and edited together! Such an exciting project and we can’t wait t see the end result!

Miss Emily’s Tap and Ballet classes have been very busy! Amongst many free work classes for all the students including a structure from our normal syllabus classes, some students are taking part in our new PBT (Progressing Ballet Technique) classes, as well as having lots of ballet quizzes and tap rhythm challenges in class!

As well as this Miss Emily has been working with the senior tappers on a ‘lockdown tappin’ project!

Each week the dancers learn a section of the routine and then film themselves for Miss Emily to edit together! We hope to share the final result with you soon!

Miss Hayley’s classes have been full of excitement for all her dancers with lots of work on our preschool and primary dancers! As well as working with our senior ballet students to keep them working on their technique and performance, and maintaining flexibility and stamina whilst at home! Her Saturday classes have been working towards a dance of which she plans to make a commemorative video!

We wish you all the best and hope you are enjoying online classes!
Don’t forget to tag us in your dance pictures/videos!

All the best,
Miss Emily x
